School Board report – Mar 26, 2018
This week, I attended the school board meeting with Laura Myers—a PATH parent and the CRES PTO president.
Here are our main takeaways:
1 - The board spent a significant amount of time carefully considering a decision in front of them: how to balance the desire for smaller K-3 class size with the constraints of space and budget. They added a work session next Tuesday, April 2nd, to examine options, including Discovery class location.
2 - After the meeting Dawn Wakeley, Executive Director of Teaching & Learning, asked me to meet with her later this week to give some parent perspective on the above topic. This shows increasing TSD trust in PATH, and I’m honored by it.
3 - A tentative date of the May 14 school board meeting was slated for a report to the school board on the highly capable program. It will be a small portion of the meeting, but you will want to be there!
